Ingredients
  

  • 1 Cup Granulated Sugar Or brown sugar for a richer taste
  • 1 Cup Water
  • 2 Sticks Cinnamon
  • 4 Whole Cloves
  • 2 Star Anise Pods
  • 1 Tsp Whole Allspice
  • 1 Inch Fresh Ginger Sliced
  • 1 Vanilla Bean Or 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3-4 Black Peppercorns Optional for added spice

Instructions
 

  • Combine sugar and water in a saucepan.
  • Add spices and bring to a simmer.
  • Let infuse for 10-15 minutes.
  • Cool, strain, and store.
